  • W. Joy Adams, ChFC, CSA, CFP is a Certified Senior Advisor. A CSA is a professional that has completed courses on the issues that are facing seniors. They must successfully complete an examination administered by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, a national organization that has trained over 14,000 professionals.

    The following are topics that a Certified Senior Advisor has an understanding of:

    • principles of aging, social aspects of aging, social security and taxes, financial and estate planning, caregiving, health, nutrition, and fitness, alzheimers and dimentia, chronic illness in seniors, tax planning, medicaid planning, ethical marketing to seniors, business ethics with seniors, senior housing and assisted living, long-term care, grief and loss, advance directives, senior spirituality, resources and networking, and funeral planning.

    A CSA is provided monthly education on important issues to older adults.
